Gothic Stone Restoration

When it first opened, the Bronx Zoo Lion House was the state of the art for animal care, now the Lions have moved on to much bigger spaces and the Lion House has been remodeled for other animals who need less space.
Gothic Stone Restoration took on the rehab of much of the interior as well as outdoor courtyards

  • Remove, reset, repoint all interior brickwork and Limestone columns

  • We removed, refurbed or replaced all terracotta Lion's heads and stringers

  • Removed and reset all Limestone carvers and Lion's heads

This project received numerous awards from prestigious associations over the last few years, among them:
2006 - City of New York/US EPA Green Building Design Award
2008 - Society of American Registered Architects Design Award of Merit
